I resisted Twitter for a long time. I could not see the point. I have not had enough time to blog, much less "microblog". Yet, after seeing all of the communication after major announcements and events that was reported in blogs, but happening in Twitter, I decided to take the plunge. I already use Facebook, so my first thought was how is the different from status updates? In some respects, it is not different. What I realized over time was that Twitter was more than just status updates. It is much more conversational. Sure, you could use instant messaging, but it is not the same. The 140 character limit keeps posts focused and to the point (unlike e-mail). Anyway, since it integrates with Facebook, I find I am updating my status there more frequently. All this is to say that I like Twitter more than I thought I would. I have not found it too distracting (which was a concern). So, if you want to follow me, I am @jimholincheck. If you are not on Twitter or do not want to follow me, I have added a widget over at blogerp.com (my personal blog to which I cross-post) that shows my Twitter updates.

it's good to have you on twitter, I also found it more useful than I thought it would be.
